Dende Elevates His Skillset On New EP 'Pregnancy Pack'

Dende is one of them ones. The Houston-based artist continues to prove his universal, seemingly never-ending artistry with every new release. Regardless of crazy flows or subduing vocals full of soul, Dende's performances continue at a high-level time after time. Following his new ties with the dream team over at CxR, Dende gives us his first official project under the group with his new EP Pregnancy Pack.

The EP's sounds are what the title alludes; six seductive, R&B structured songs, each flaunting Dende's ability to mold his vocals into any form he chooses. The intro, "Cheri," sets the tone with a soulful ballad full of love and passion. In beautiful accompaniment, fellow Houston singer Lily Aviana adds a tailor-made passionate verse of her own. Track two, "Most Days," contains an addicting chorus where the artist addresses fake mixed signals from a partner who acts uninterested yet still calls Dende's phone. Bobby Feeno joins for an impressive verse, helping curate the desirable vibes. "S E X" is, of course, a token sex anthem, where Dende and Susan Carol recognize the desires of a partner through calls and texts. Track five, "On The Low," stands out in terms of sound. Dende mixes in a hip-hop style flow across the track, while Bairi tags along to serenade listeners with complementing rhymes. The final song, "Thinkin Bout Me," seems influenced by a retro R&B song, with quirky yet easing guitar strums and impeccable harmonization. This offering is a dedication to skipping the relationship and helping fulfill an interest's sex drive, which their current partner isn't capable of doing.

Production is handled entirely by Billy Blunt with help from Satchy and THRD on tracks two and three. The beats carry an assortment of lush pads and synths, slow but bumping drums, and of course, Billy Blunt's irreplaceable guitar talents.

The ingenuity and versatileness coming from Dende are shining through every line, verse, song, and project. Now is just the beginning of what's panning out to be an exciting career for the Houston artist. Stream the new Pregnancy Pack EP below.
