LA-based rapper mynameisntjmack taps into this autumn season avatar state with his latest single, “askofme.” After four months following the release of his BOOKMARK EP, jmack is back on the operating table, ready to let listeners take a peak behind the curtain.
In perfect hoodie weather fashion, mynameisntjmack creates a melancholic story told from the perspective of an artist who finds himself in a dissociative world to face the struggle of self-reflection. As he takes us back in time, it’s almost as if this story is about a past life our author himself doesn’t recognize. Jmack starts the story off on overlooked topics such as losing touch with reality, religion, and himself. He implies a general theme of self-medication, but in a true smoker style, he’s back trying to buy a piece of himself while ultimately just “getting high & getting distant.” Even with that said, if this track were on an Italian menu, it would be paired beautifully with a 2-gram blunt & the views of a nighttime city skyline.
