Lei Pursuits to Save Himself on New Single "Catching Bugs"

Lei returns with an incredible offering, digging deeper into his range of artistry and emotion. The New York native continues to build out sounds with a shapeless base, propelling through the confines of rap, electronic, rock, alternative, and pop - virtually any sound becomes uncategorized in Lei's world of sonic twists and turns. New originality comes to light on each track; even disregarding a song's foundational direction, the artist revives each already-ambitious sound through remodeled vocal approaches and a seemingly endless tunnel of visions. Now back for more unexplored sounds in his realm of elasticity, Lei sets out on a self-help venture on "Catching Bugs."

The new single holds a floor of alternative rock and a ceiling of refound creation. Lei opens, "I know how to play the victim, i know how to play the system," recalling practices of positioning blame to avoid his own hurting, although we later learn of his internal distortion. As the song unfolds, Lei questions, "I dont understand why I hurt myself when forgiving's in my coding," imploring himself to "save me, from me." So it seems on the outside world, Lei accepts his position of prey to someone or something else, but in his mind he is a victim of his individual thoughts, actions, and habits, some hard to forgive. Musically this track offers a somber guitar ballad, slowly introducing soft rock-like drums, then venturing off into a amorphous chasm in distinct Lei form.
