For the past few years, loops have changed the way records are created. This form of co-production has come a long way, and loops are still evolving. Producers like Frank Dukes, Cubeatz, PVLACE, OZ, and Rex Kudo (among others) helped popularize the use of loops, inspiring an entire generation to follow in their footsteps.
In 2021, loops are used more than ever in music. Almost every rap song you hear uses a loop or drew inspiration from one. Anyone can purchase loop kits via online stores or ask for exclusive loops directly from the producers. As an artist or producer, it helps to know which loop makers can bring value to your specific sound, especially as the demand for loops increases. Here are some of the best upcoming loop makers in the scene.
*By no means is this a definitive list, as there are plenty of talented loop makers around. This is simply an informative guide, and we will be writing about more in the near future.*
Kabeh
Kabeh is an incredible talent. This loop maker and producer has some of the most unique loops I've heard to this day. Kabeh's sound is very synth-oriented and spacey. The sound is almost impossible to replicate, due to his creative melodies and synth automation, giving his own aspect of life to the sound. You can find all of Kabeh's sample packs on his recently launched website Outofideas.
Dynox
I'm sure many rap listeners are familiar with Internet Money, but one of their newer signees Dynox is already lighting up the scene. The 19-year-old producer comes from an EDM background, giving him an advantage in creating the new sound of "rage" and "virtual" loops. Most recently, Dynox secured a placement on Trippie Redd's Trip At Knight album ("Betrayal"). Although many are saying this future bass sound has become oversaturated, I believe mainstream rap production will continue in the direction of more electronic influences. Look out for Dynox to play a big part in whatever the next sound is. You can find Dynox's loops HERE.
Splitmind
Splitmind is a producer collective, founded by Halfway. I couldn't just name one name from the collective, because the assortment of talent is so strong. Splitmind has been a consistent leader with sound kits, and their strong roster continues to make waves in the music scene. If you need innovative sounds that are created with the newest trends and plugins, look no further. Their Instagram account follows the roster, and you can visit the Drumify website to find all of the loop and sound kits HERE.
Al Hug
Al Hug's sound ranges from live and soulful production to dark and gritty textures. The producer has done work on records for Kodak Black, Joyner Lucas, Kevin Abstract, Headie One, and more. Al Hug always comes through with some heat on his sample packs, and everything I've copped from him is super useful. Check out his collection of kits HERE.
UNKWN
The Loophole is another collective of producers and sound designers whose content is always of great quality. If you like experimenting with different synths, The Loophole is for you. This group offers sound banks for VST's, sample packs, tips, and even full production courses. You can find everything they have to offer HERE.
Juice
Juice is on the way to becoming a go-to loop creator for everything guitar. All the snippets, loops, and videos I see from this guy exfoliate talent. Juice always lays down some incredible toplines over his lush chords. Just check his Instagram to see for yourself. Juice doesn't have a store of his own, but he does have a sample pack available HERE.
VLEX
VLEX is a producer I found from Discord, who always comes through with some fire loops. The sample maker from Mexico is extremely versatile when it comes to sound, ranging from pop melodies to hard trap vibes. Although he doesn't have a website, you can find his loops on various Discord servers or contact him via social media (@whotfisvlex).
