Sækyi and Tommy Richman Deliver Prominent Feelings On “Taking Me Back For The Night”

Virginia artists have continuously made it known that they are one of the top landmarks for rising talent today. Of course, all play to their respective sounds, but a common theme in the variety appears to be a push in their lane's creativity and a supply of authentic feelings. One of those artists coining a unique sound goes by Sækyi, and with every new release, another characteristic becomes prevalent to his sonic presence. Not only does Sækyi continue to improve himself, but he's one of those artists who creates a comfortable and advantageous environment for everyone he shares a song with, which is truly one of the most valuable facets a musician can hold. Now teaming up with fellow Virginian and vocal wizard Tommy Richman, the two release one of this year's most colorful songs yet, titled "Taking Me Back For The Night."

The new collaboration is the breath of fresh air you need in music, instituting a mystic voyage of freedom, self-love, and renouncing unnecessary feelings. An intro holds a succulent ballad of synth and Richman's vocals. Sækyi lays passionate verses recalling poisonous love and bad habits, and both artists continue to check-in across rotating and distorted synths, extending more observational lyrics. "Taking Me Back For The Night" seems to be the artist's expression of taking themselves back, holding accountability, and breaking free from anything and everything. That's just my understanding, but the actual sounds align heavily with this sensation of freedom. The vocals are great, the sounds are unique, and maybe most importantly, the feelings these artists captured are prominent and truly special.

Don't sleep on one of the most exciting collabs of 2022 so far. Check out Sækyi and Tommy Richman's chemistry on "Taking Me Back For The Night" below.
