polar Reaches New Heights On "webs"

Los Angeles-based and multi-talented creative polar continues to provide me reasons to believe their one of the most exciting names on the rise. All aspects of polar's musicality are growing exponentially, and a quick listen to their songs in chronological order would prove this true. Their previous release, "forget," caught all of my attention, where I realized polar's sonic design is blossoming. A unique sound is forming to match the name, while their writing and production grow additionally catchy and distinctive. Now returning for their second offering of 2022, and maybe their most addicting song to date, polar drops off "webs."

If anything, "webs" shows polar at a new height of songwriting and vision, further connecting their talents on the DAW and mic. Polar swiftly guides listeners into their galaxy of sound, which has become so unpredictably good. Unpredictable, yes, but with no negative connotation; we never become lost in a sort of chaos. It's much more of comfortable anticipation, where polar controls and directs our attention to every detail they purposefully craft. A light guitar intro shifts to a pronounced myriad of bizarre feelings, leaving polar to ask, "I wonder how we got here," and on that note, they elevate to a creative hotspot. Everything on the bridge and hook, from writing to production to mix, is executed so well in that unpredictable sense, carrying listeners to a land of oscillating colors and feelings. The actual lyrics seem to honor a broken relationship that remains spiritually intact through brutal feelings and inescapable thoughts, and the sounds back all of the words and more than we could ask.

Production is handled by polar and 31sentinel, who helped this vision come full circle.

If you have yet to listen to polar, this song will leave you running through their catalog and instantly craving more. Stream "webs" below.
