Johan Lenox's current rollout has been nothing short of spectacular, tying a thread of themes and refreshing takes on hip-hop and pop synonymously. The Los Angeles native, by way of Massachusetts, is gearing up for the release of his new album, WDYWTBWYGU, slated to break boundaries between contemporary genres and classical string arrangements. His last single, "Get My Shit Together," expanded the realm of Lenox's dystopia with Thouxanbanfauni. Now returning to continue the momentum and add to the fire, Lenox declares irritable feelings for his hometown on "Fuck This Town."

The new single hovers over the edges of traditional pop, with catchy and charismatic voicings across a typically captivating string layout. Lenox delivers his vocals efficiently, capturing the emotions of someone whose hometown brings restrainment and dwelling of the past. Lenox ultimately chooses to burn the town, relieving him of mental constraints. The overall vibe plays another big part in this WDYWTBWYGU series of releases, taking listeners to a place holding Lenox's roots and parabolically destroying them to move onward. Of course, the act of burning things is also a key takeaway, as the fire is metaphoric for the creative's uncomfortable world. Perhaps this fire is the one pictured in all of Lenox's music videos, spreading to the atmosphere in his reality at all times. Regardless, this is another stunning offering from a creative whose growth is showing in real-time.
