Destin Laurel is 'searching for klarity' on New Project

Destin Laurel is ready for whatever comes his way. The eighteen-year-old artist made an impact and a name for himself in 2022, ripening his skills and sharpening his blade to cut through the noise of everyday sounds. Laurel racked up hundreds of thousands of plays on an addicting, self-produced single, "i suppose'," which became unavoidable in underground sounds. Later repeating the similarly distinct innovations on the Xlovclo-assisted "respect'," the artist demonstrated a growing potential that just needed a proper display to the masses. Now, packaging a variety of talents together for a durable listen, Destin Laurel climbs a mountain of personal development on "searching for klarity."

The eight-track project outlines Laruel's chronicle, walking reflective lines between skepticism versus belief, love versus resentment, and assurance versus doubt. After a murky, instrumental opening full of soul and muted colors, we arrive at "high'," a piece that gives insight into the artist's newfound way of life and art. Laurel has acknowledged his problems and faced his wavering perspective, putting it on paper to say it's in the past as he turns a chapter in his book of life. Track two, "arc'go," builds on the subdued atmospheric trajectory, awakening thoughts from his fast-paced, almost unattainable love life and catching ears with a recurring message; "I'm on go." Track three, "win'or'lose" recounts his journey, the people who doubted him, and his true-to-self tendencies as he's played his part in the paths he's crossed. The following piece "in'here" is an ode to money and women, all while captivating a unique wordplay (see "here" and "huh" and how he utilizes "bag"). After the previously released single "i suppose'" comes the outro, "anesthesia'" which acts as an intersection that connects the subjects of the project. Laurel clarifies that this time is the right time to execute, that time is valuable and lies even more inconvenient, that every temptation comes with a consequence, and most importantly, that self-realization conquers all intrusive gestures.
