DavidTheTragic has hit our playlists, but now he makes his Trending Raps site debut with a stimulating new project. The artist from Atlanta has so much to offer, covering an array of sounds that he makes his own. With autotune-oriented vocals, dynamic flows, and a special ear for beats, DavidTheTragic continues to make his case for an exciting rising artist. Now back for a complete offering of all the above, DavidTheTragic drops his new album STILL* ALIVE.

Everything about this project is refreshing and shows sides of the rising artist we've had yet to hear. The intro, "would b," commences the wavey sound selection with a beat full of quirky percussion over simple string plucks, and DavidTheTragic lays out his flows adequately. Track two shows another sound for the artist, with unquantized drums and interesting foley over a selection of vibey minor chords. DavidTheTragic's writing approach works well, and Mercury lays her angelic vocals down for a nice verse. After a three-track run of previously released singles, we arrive at song six, "bullshit," a soulful offering delivering a beat containing modern yet odd synths. The song has a light texture overall, offering a relaxed sound throughout. Kapwani features and her "I been on bullshit" vocals complement the sound faultlessly. Track seven, "distance," sounds like a beat from a modern-day Acid Rap. DavidTheTragic offers chilled-out vocals, this time capitalizing on a more psychedelic and hazy sound. Track eight, "something u said," stays on theme with a simple chord progression, allowing DavidTheTragic, MuddyMya, and Burgendy to levitate their words. Track ten, "FACE," is almost a mix of something like early Odd Future, making for a gripping atmosphere provided by DavidTheTragic and Mercury. The final track, "b dead," is a beautiful ode to life, where DavidTheTragic recognizes he's blessed to be alive.

The beats are provided by your friend kamiOvrkastA1 DevinSpencer.wzrd.Ren HazeCam1kSwaya, and more. Shoutout to all producers involved, the beats are all-around quality and very engaging for the listener's ears.

DavidTheTragic shows so much talent, and the vocal display is authentic, addicting, and overall refreshing. This project is an incredible addition to the Atlanta artist's discography, and I think there's a niche fanbase out there that just hasn't found his music yet. When they do, they're in for a treat.
