Cybertrash Makes Highly-Anticipated Return With "play pretend"

The excitement of Atlanta-based artist Cybertrash stems from a vast talent that's rooted further than any perceived genre identification; I, for one, believe he has the voice and potential to become a universal star. An ambitious statement? Perhaps. Yet something tells me he hasn't even scratched the surface of his creative cache. I can read artists pretty well, even from afar, and it's just a different aura bubbling over there. A musical superpower, if you will, that can lead Cybertrash to a long and prosperous career if he so determines. Between the handful of previous releases, the artist has shown an ability and range in sound and vocals, executing all to a consistent S-tier level. Now making his highly-anticipated return, Cybertrash drops another exemplary record in "play pretend."

The new track sparks more progress for the twenty-year-old, encapsulating a beautifully-rounded aesthetic of cultivation. A natural ability to add sonic dimensions stands out with each single, as Cybertrash repeats with his take on something like indie-pop. Arousing vocals, stimulating foresight, and an ear for piecing together a complete vision come naturally to the artist again. Regarding lyricism and writing, it's evident an unreciprocated love has weighed on Cybertrash for some time. He conveys these unwelcoming, puzzled feelings through a catchy yet emotionally-fatigued tone. The beat itself is a catchy exploration of pop produced by Cybertrash, and I really enjoy the usage of the FL Studio metronome, especially compared to how I've heard it on newer Soundcloud songs, as it feels much more unique and fitting as textures to a drum fill.

Don't miss out on one of the most promising voices in the underground; stream Cybertrash's "play pretend" below.
